My name is Derek Pillie, and as the newest member of the Cirrus ABS team, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a little about my role with the company.
I am excited about the opportunity to lead the development of the Cirrus ABS LEDO Suite – a product designed to empower local economic development organizations to communicate directly with site selectors and potential investors. As the LEDO Suite’s program manager, I’m responsible for developing new business, working with our current clients to maximize utilization, and communicating new product developments to users and potential clients.
Over much of the last 15 years, I have worked for different members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The last seven of those years found me focused on helping LEDOs across northeast Indiana solve challenges they encountered with federal agencies and better position their communities for new investment. I have also been involved in supporting the establishment new LEDOs in our region.
Cirrus ABS is allowing me to put this experience to work for LEDOs throughout Indiana and across the country. As a former government employee, I understand that the challenge most often confronting LEDOs is not cash flow but time. My goal is to develop solutions that clients can actually make work for them in the time they have available.
If my experience has taught me one thing, it’s that the chief obstacle for any community seeking outside investment is getting “found” by key business stakeholders, be they site selectors or corporate executives. Similar challenges are faced by other organizations. Cirrus ABS has developed the LEDO Suite so communities can overcome such challenges without sacrificing the ability to control their message or have local stakeholders help manage that message.
This new position gives me an opportunity to do two of my favorite things: 1) work with the economic development community and 2) solve marketing challenges. Please don’t hesitate to call me if I can help you or your organization get “found” on the web.
