The Siskiyou County Economic Development Council recently launched website developed by Fort Wayne, IN based website development and NetCentered Marketing firm Cirrus ABS, has been named the best general purpose website for a city with a population of 50,000 or less by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). A panel of economic development experts consisting of members from both the public and private sectors selected the winner. IEDC is the world's largest membership organization serving the economic development profession.

But at the end of the day, we are most excited for Siskiyou County and the impact the website is having on their organizational goals while providing their community with tremendous exposure on the international stage.”
The IEDC Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognizes the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships; marketing materials; and the year’s most influential leaders. Winners of IEDC’s Excellence in Economic Development Awards must demonstrate to an experienced panel of judges that they are at the forefront of the economic development profession.
IEDC recognizes only the most successful, innovative, and effective leaders, programs, partnerships, and promotional materials. “This is very exciting for us,” said EDC Director Tonya Dowse “To be recognized internationally for our website is a great honor.” The website is seeing strong traffic from around the world. The site on average receives around 500 unique visits each month and visitors average 1219 page views.
As expected the site is primarily accessed by economic developers and other visitors from the United States, however the EDC has been pleased to see some unique international exposure as well having the site viewed in countries including; Ireland, Romania, Canada, Phillipines, China, India, Germany, Maylasia, Uganda, Australia, Egypt, Italy, Mexico, Japan, Indonesia, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Cambodia, Belgium, Thialand, Argentina, Bangladesh, and Australia.
In addition to the visually impacting design elements of the website, the Cirrus eBusiness Suite tool set enables the EDC to effectively manage their online strategy with easy to use web content management tools, a wide range of powerful business applications, and search engine optimization tools. The combination of outstanding design and business functionality not only produced an award winning website but more importantly a business tool that produces results for the EDC.
