Cirrus ABS’s Derek Pillie to Speak at RightOnline 2013

Aug 28

Derek Pillie, Cirrus ABS’s director of vertical markets and a well-known Hoosier conservative, has been invited to speak at RightOnline 2013, a major grassroots conference bringing together liberty-minded bloggers, social media gurus, and online citizen leaders from all across the country. They’ll meet August 30 and 31 at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel in the Universal Orlando theme park, Orlando, Florida.

Also speaking at the event will be such prominent conservative figures as Arthur C. Brooks, president of the American Enterprise Institute, one of the most influential conservative think-tanks; Michelle Malkin, author, blogger, syndicated columnist, and frequent Fox News Channel contributor; and Patrick Ruffini, president of Engage, a full-service digital media agency active in Republican National Committee as well as various statewide campaign and policy initiatives.

Pillie will be part of a panel addressing “Pass the Gatekeeper: How to Get Published” on Saturday, August 31, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Others on the panel include Moderator Greg Moore, Rob Montz, and Mike Opelka. The session will include speaker presentations and a moderator-led discussion of how, in an age of diminishing printing press primacy, conservatives can capture legacy media attention when they must.

Currently, Pillie is the managing editor of Hoosier Access, a blog site committed to advancing conservative ideals and policies to elected leaders all across Indiana as well as the state’s representatives in Washington, DC. He has been active in Hoosier politics in various capacities for almost two decades. For nearly 15 years he worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, with 10 of those years devoted to the northeast Indiana Congressional District.

RightOnline is widely regarded as the premier conference for conservative activists seeking to understand and better utilize emerging online tools and tactics. For more information about the Orlando event, visit
