Fort Wayne,
IN – On Wednesday, August 10, a Northeast Indiana Manufacturing Growth
Symposium will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Northeast Indiana
Innovation Center’s Cole Auditorium. You can get details and sign up at
this Upcoming Events posting on our website. The
symposium is free for the first 70 people to sign up online.
Joining
forces to present this symposium are the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center
(the NIIC) and digital agency Cirrus ABS. The purpose of the event is to engage
prominent local business leaders in a discussion of new methods for increasing
manufacturing activity in our region. Topics are specifically designed to
address the needs of area business executives, product managers, and
sales/marketing professionals working for manufacturers who look to grow with
new products pushed through innovative marketing channels.
According to
Cirrus CEO and Founder Matt Nickols, “Northeast Indiana has always been one of
the nation’s best manufacturing centers. Now, with the national political and
economic debate focused on growing manufacturing in the U.S., it seems a
perfect opportunity for our region to profit from the discussion. What we need,
though, are modern tools and approaches if we’re to seize the opportunity and
provide for growth. That’s what our symposium will address.”
Among the
topics to be discussed are “best practices” for new product development and
innovation; how local manufacturers can grow and support their
dealer/distributor networks; and how modern marketing tools – including
websites, search engines, and social media – can be applied all across such
channels of distribution.
The
symposium’s primary presenters will be Karl LaPan, president and CEO of the
NIIC, providing the program introduction; John Sampson, president/CEO of the
Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, delivering the keynote address on
“Collaboration and the Regional Economy”; Steve Franks, the NIIC’s director of
programs, speaking on “Managing Your Innovation Pipeline for Manufacturing
Growth”; and Mark Burke, COO of Cirrus ABS, speaking on “Growing and Supporting
Your Dealer/Distributor Network.”
On hand to
provide real-world case studies and lead a panel discussion will be Tim Litton,
director of marketing for Waterfurnace International, and Nick Bond, CEO
of Russ Moore Transmission.
The
Northeast Indiana Innovation Center (NIIC) is a non-profit, community-based
